Hi, I am Ernest Akakpo known as Pablo
About me
Ernest Akakpo, also known as Pablo in the Web3 community, is a passionate African builder with a mission to bridge technology and empowerment. With over three years of hands-on experience in Web3, I’ve transformed from a P2P trader into a community leader, product builder, and researcher. I proudly carry the title of “African Builder,” dedicated to driving innovation and growth across the continent.
My journey into Web3 began as a P2P trader, followed by a role as an educator at REFICA. In 2022, I took on a moderator and community moderator role at Cryptopreneurs, gaining valuable experience in managing communities. I later became an FTX Ghana ambassador, where I expanded my knowledge and involvement in blockchain. In 2023, I also served as a Cassava Network ambassador, continuing my commitment to educating and building in the space.
From there, I joined Bankless Africa, contributing as a writer and content creator before stepping up as marketing lead. In 2024, my role as a Push Africa Ambassador and Near Ghana Technical Lead deepened my commitment to creating impactful solutions through technology.
I’m not just about words—I build. I’ve spearheaded projects like Ton Dune AI, a therapeutic health app, and Eazy Wally, alongside other innovative initiatives. My team and I made waves in the hackathon world too: we won 3rd place at ETH Accra 2023 with Eazy Wally, a solution linking wallet addresses to phone numbers. In 2024, we clinched 1st place at ETHAccra for our climate change solution in the Switzerland Bounty, as well as 2nd place in the Circles bounty. We also won at the Secrets Hackathon, where we built Variff ID, an Onchain Verification Tool—recognized globally as one of the best projects. That same year, I proudly won the Ethereum Translatathon and co-organized the Ghana Ethereum Translatathon Hackathon.
My passion for hackathons and conferences has seen me participate in 50+ global events, including ETH Safari, MU Accra, ETHAccra, DeFi Summit, and the Africa Bitcoin Conference. I’ve also been a speaker at more than 20+ events, including Filecoin, the Africa Blockchain Summit, and many more, where I’ve shared my insights and experiences with the wider Web3 community.
I’m also a key contributor to the African Onchain Collective (AOC), where we’re pushing boundaries for African representation in the Web3 space. Currently, I lead BB-Club, a growing community dedicated to nurturing student talent in Web3. As the Community Manager for Celo Ghana, I’ve sparked tremendous growth and engagement since joining.
In my free time, I build new projects and actively help others follow in my footsteps, sharing my knowledge and empowering the next generation of builders. Through every project and event, I stand firm in my belief that Web3 is a gateway to reshaping the future of Africa, one block at a time.
